A Legacy of Innovation

As an innovator Arthur has had a career defined by breakthrough accomplishments in high-tech aviation and aerospace industries. Currently established in Austin, Texas, he is channeling his vast experience into Beyond Brix, an advanced manufacturing company focused on making housing affordable.

His journey is a testament to strategic leadership and a relentless drive to integrate advanced technology into real-world solutions that tangibly improve lives.

Beyond Brix

A home in half the time & twice the quality

Arthur co-founded Beyond Brix with his wife, Ninke Bezuidenhout, to take on one of America’s most urgent challenges: making quality housing more attainable. Beyond Brix is an advanced manufacturing company that has developed a faster, smarter way to construct homes through precision-built systems, lower-maintenance materials, and integrated smart technology as a standard.

They are not focused on producing affordable housing, but on making housing more affordable, by speeding up the way homes are designed, built, and delivered. Arthur has shaped the vision from the ground up, bringing the entrepreneurial drive and practical execution needed to turn a bold idea into a scalable solution for the future of homebuilding in America.

Industry Experience

Avion Group

Flight Simulation & Training

Avion Group is a Dutch aviation technology company that designs, manufactures, and operates full-motion flight simulators for commercial pilot training, founded by Arthur in 2015.

Based in Nieuw-Vennep in the Netherlands, Avion provides advanced Full Flight Simulators for aircraft including the Airbus A320 family and Boeing 737, serving airlines and training organisations through both simulator ownership and flexible training-centre access.

The company positions itself around sustainable, high-quality, and cost-effective pilot training solutions

Avion was founded on the idea of redesigning the Full Flight Simulator from the ground up to reduce build and operational costs while improving the overall value of pilot training.

After selling Avion in 2018, Arthur began thinking about what problem he wanted to solve next. One challenge stood out above the rest - a problem that affects people across the world: the need for homes that are not only more attainable, but genuinely worth the cost.

Arthur founded Simteq as a specialist aviation technology company focused on building advanced Full Flight Simulators for professional pilot training. Based in Nieuw-Vennep, near Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, Simteq developed both the hardware and software behind highly sophisticated B737 and A320 simulators for customers around the world.

Bough by AMST Group in 2013, a worldwide leader in solutions for flight simulation, aircrew training and aeromedical applications. Since 1982, AMST has prepared aircrew for extreme situations to make flying safer. Comprising of the business units Aerospace Medicine, Civil Aviation and Visual Systems, the group of private companies strives to provide its customers with industry-leading solutions that lift training capabilities to the next level.

He saw that the issue was not simply the price of housing, but the way homes were being built. Traditional construction had become too slow, too expensive, and too inconsistent to meet the scale of the need.

That realization became the starting point for what would eventually become his revolutionary homebuilding process.

Arthur began developing a new approach to construction - one designed to make high-quality homes faster to build, lower to maintain, and smarter from the start.

Maxxliving

Off-the-grid Homes in South Africa

Arthur started Maxxliving in South Africa to address the country’s massive housing crisis with a fundamentally different approach to how homes are built.

Through Maxxliving he developed and deployed his revolutionary home concept in South Africa’s first timber-built, 100% off-the-grid estate. South Africa was the proving ground for a new manufacturing and construction technique.

The product development in South Africa laid the foundation for the launch of Beyond Brix in the American market.

Arthur’s experience building and investing in South Africa also became the basis for his book, The Prosperity Trap (featured below), which reflects on the challenges, lessons, and opportunities of creating meaningful economic impact in the country.

The Prosperity Trap

A warning to European Entrepreneurs

The Prosperity Trap is Arthur Bezuidenhout’s unfiltered account of investing, building, and leading in one of the world’s most complex markets: South Africa.

From pioneering the first fully off-grid timber estate in South Africa to navigating banks, authorities, communities, and corruption, the book captures the hard lessons behind turning vision into reality in a turbulent country.

Arthur tells the real story behind the desire to create meaningful impact, the risks of investing in a country full of promise, and the price entrepreneurs pay when vision meets broken systems.
